Land clearing is taking a lot you can’t use and turning it into ground you can build on, fence, or mow. Trees, brush, palmettos, stumps — out. If you own raw land in Hernando County or anywhere on the Nature Coast, this is where most projects start.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
- Tree and brush removal. Trees cut and removed, brush and palmettos pushed out down to bare dirt.
- Grubbing. Stumps and root balls dug out, not just cut flush. Roots left in the ground come back.
- Selective clearing. Keep the oaks you like. Clear around them. You walk the property and mark what stays.
- Underbrush cleanup. Open up wooded land so you can see through it and walk it, without taking the canopy.
- Debris handling. Cleared material piled, hauled, or processed on site — worked out before the job starts.
- Rough grade. The lot gets left workable, not torn up.
WHEN YOU NEED IT
You bought overgrown acreage
You own five acres and can’t walk ten feet into it. Clearing is how you find out what you actually bought.
You’re building
House, barndominium, shop, barn — the site has to be cleared before anyone can prep a pad or pull a truck in.
You’re fencing or adding pasture
Fence lines and pasture need clean ground. Clearing the line first saves the fence crew time and saves you money.
You’re selling
A cleared lot shows better and walks better than a wall of brush. Buyers pay for what they can see.

Text photos of the property to (352) 584-2842. Sam looks at them, then comes and walks the land with you. You get one number for the work you agreed on. Then the equipment shows up and the man you talked to is the man in the machine.
QUESTIONS
What makes a clearing job harder or easier?
Density and size of the trees, how wet the ground is, and access. A dry lot with road frontage and scattered pines is straightforward. Heavy oaks, soft ground, or no way in changes the work. That’s why Sam walks it before quoting it.
Do I need a permit to clear my land?
It depends on the county and the property. Some clearing may require a permit, especially near wetlands or protected trees. Check with your county before major clearing — and bring it up when Sam walks the property.
What happens to the debris?
It gets piled, hauled off, or dealt with on site, depending on the property and what the county allows. Burning is subject to county and Florida Forest Service rules. It’s all settled in the quote, so there are no surprises at the end.
