Text photos of the site to (352) 584-2842 — plans too, if you have them. Sam walks the property with you, talks through grades and drainage, and gives you one number. Then the machines show up, and it’s Sam running them.
QUESTIONS
What is a building pad, exactly?
It’s the raised, compacted area your structure sits on — built up to the height the plans call for, so the slab stays dry and the building sits level. Compaction matters as much as height. A pad that settles takes the slab with it.
Can you work with my builder?
Yes. Give Sam the pad height, the plans, or your builder’s phone number. Grading to a plan is normal work. If there’s a survey or grade stakes, even better.
How do you fix a drainage problem?
By reading how the water moves and reshaping the ground so it moves somewhere better — swales, slopes, and fill where it’s needed. Every property drains differently, which is why Sam walks it before quoting anything.
