Grading & site prep for Ocala and Marion County horse country — barn pads, arena pads that actually drain, and big-acreage leveling. We’re based in Brooksville, and Ocala is inside our regular working area. Text photos of your property to (352) 584-2842 for a free estimate.

Grading in Ocala is farm-scale work. Horse properties here need pads for barns, run-in sheds, and equipment buildings, and they need arena pads — which are their own animal. An arena that holds water is an arena you can’t ride, so the pad has to be built with a deliberate crown or slope that sheds rain fast and evenly, then compacted so the footing that goes on top stays consistent. Flat isn’t the goal. Flat-looking and draining is.
The other side of the work is acreage leveling. Marion County parcels run big, and pastures, paddock rows, and building sites often need whole areas smoothed, filled, and shaped — not a house-lot’s worth of dirt, but acres of it. The ground here generally works well and grades clean, and the scale rewards doing it in one mobilization: barn pad, arena, and the leveling around them planned together so water moves the same direction across the whole property.
Drainage. A building pad just needs to be level, compacted, and at the right elevation. An arena pad needs a subtle crown or slope — enough to shed water fast, not enough to feel on horseback — and uniform compaction so the footing above it rides the same everywhere. Get the subgrade wrong and no footing fixes it.
It depends on the structure and the parcel. Pads under a permitted barn typically run with the building permit; agricultural-zoned land has its own rules. Check with Marion County Building Safety for your property, and we can talk through the likely scope when you reach out.
