DIRT WORK IN WEEKI WACHEE
Weeki Wachee parcels tend to sit back off the road — long drives, trees on both sides, and a homesite somewhere in the middle of it. Getting fill back there is half the job. Because the dump truck and the machines are the same outfit, we haul the dirt in and spread it in the same visit. No pile sitting at the road waiting on somebody else.
The other thing about this area is the sand. Loose, sandy soil swallows fill if you just dump and walk away. We spread in lifts and pack it down so the homesite ground actually builds up instead of disappearing into the ground under it. Weeki Wachee is inside our regular working area, so getting a machine out to a wooded parcel is a normal day, not a special trip.

My homesite is way back in the trees. Can you get fill to it?
That’s the usual setup out here. If a truck can make it down the drive, we haul it all the way back. If the path is too tight for the truck, we shuttle the dirt back with a machine. Text photos of the drive and we’ll tell you which way it goes.
Will fill just sink into this sandy ground?
It will if it’s dumped in one pile and left. We spread it in layers and compact each one, so the buildup stays where we put it. That’s the difference between a dirt delivery and dirt work.
